School Files Child Abuse Report

September 9, 2014: New England News reported a Duxbury, Massachusetts high school is investigating an alleged confrontation between a staff member and two students that took place near the end of August.

According to Duxbury Police, the school’s principal confirmed there were allegations that a physical confrontation occurred between the staff member and the students.

Duxbury Police say that they asked school officials if they needed assistance, but that they did not want to file a police report. Police added that the department trusts the school’s process, which they say has been thorough and responsive in the past.

“The district takes these allegations seriously and is investigating the alleged incident,” wrote Duxbury Public Schools Superintendent Benedict Tantillo III in a statement Tuesday. “The safety and well-being of our students are most important to us.”
